Leading Out
The Gifts Of The Whole Child
In today's classroom, the entire educational team is challenged to promote the "leading out" of children's gifts: mind, body, feeling life, and spirit from school entry throughout the children's lives in school. Since every child has a special gift to offer the world:
How do we as educators, school mental health professionals and parents "lead out" those gifts especially when faced with a student's challenging behavior in the classroom?
What problems do schools face in leading out a child's gifts?
Are there differences for African American children or other children?
How can educators, mental health professionals and parents better collaborate in addressing problems of learning and behavior?
Join this Roundtable Discussion and share your opinions, ideas, concerns, and especially your effective strategies.
Margaret Morgan Lawrence, M.D., distinguished Pediatrician, Child Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst will lead us in discussion. Barbara Eisold, PhD, practicing psychotherapist in New York City, will share information about Best Practices.
